High School Scholarship Awards

The Middle Atlantic District is dedicated to honoring and financially rewarding graduating high school seniors who have actively participated in AAU events and embody the motto, “Sports For All, Forever ”.
High School Scholarship Award Eligibility Requirements
- Senior in high school or homeschool, attending college in the fall
- Member of the Middle Atlantic District of the AAU in the current AAU membership year (September 1-August 31)
NOTE: If you are participating in a sport at the Division l, ll or lll level, the NCAA and your college will regulate the permissible monetary amount that the Middle Atlantic District is allowed to award. Should monetary awards be prohibited, the Middle Atlantic District will offer a non-monetary award as a substitute.

1. Personal Essay: Tell us how your AAU participation influenced your life. Your personal essay is an essential part of the selection process. Members of the review committee do not interview the scholarship applicants.
Essay may include AAU and other athletic accomplishments, academic achievements, community service, leadership skills, and extenuating circumstances. Below are prompts that may serve as inspiration to guide your essay.
- How do you exemplify the spirit of the AAU, which embraces the motto, “Sports for All, Forever”?
- What sets your AAU experience apart from other applicants?
- How have you contributed to your community through service or mentorship, and how has that impacted your life or the life of others?
- Do you have an AAU coach or mentor who has driven your athletic motivation or success? How have they affected your life?
- What have you learned through your AAU experience that will influence your future?
2. Letters of Recommendation (3) One letter of recommendation is required from each of these areas.

- Applications will be accepted December 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025
Award Notification
- All applicants will be notified of committee’s final decision
- Award recipients will be posted on website
- Scholarship recipients will receive an invitation to Awards Banquet
