The Middle Atlantic District is dedicated to honoring and financially rewarding college students who continue to participate in AAU events and emanates the motto, “Sports For All, Forever ”.
Collegiate Scholarship Award Eligibility Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a freshman, sophomore or junior in a college or university
- Member in the Middle Atlantic District of the AAU in the current AAU membership year (September 1-August 31)
- May have been a previous winner of the high school Middle Atlantic District scholarship
- Cannot be a prior winner of the collegiate scholarship, but may have previously applied
NOTE: If you are participating in a sport at the Division l, ll or lll level, the NCAA and your college will regulate the permissible monetary amount that the Middle Atlantic District is allowed to award. Should monetary awards be prohibited, the Middle Atlantic District will offer a non-monetary award as a substitute.

- AAU membership card
- Completed online application form
1. Personal Statement: Tell us how your AAU participation is shaping your college experience. Your personal statement is an essential part of the selection process. Members of the review committee do not interview the scholarship applicants.
Statements may include AAU athletic accomplishments, academic achievements, community service, leadership skills, and extenuating circumstances. Below are prompts that may serve as inspiration to guide your statement.
- How do you continue to exemplify the spirit of the AAU, which embraces the motto, “Sports for All Forever”?
- How has your AAU experience helped you transition into college life?
- What have you learned through your AAU experience that will influence your future?
- How have you contributed to your AAU community through service or mentorship? How has that impacted your life and the life of others?
2. Letter of recommendation (1)
- At least one letter of recommendation from your college faculty and/or staff
3. College Transcript
- Most recent official or copy of the current school year transcript
4. Online Application Form
- Only upload documents in Word doc, PDF or JPEG formats
- Applications will be accepted December 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025
Award Notification
- All applicants will be notified of committee’s final decision
- Award recipient will be posted on website
- Scholarship recipient will receive an invitation to Awards Banquet
